Description

This is a reproduction from the newspaper publication The Detroit Free Press. It features a political cartoon at the top of the page. The cartoon depicts two malevolent looking politicians, hiding behind a rock, scheming and saying "And then the world is ours!" as they watch another group of men labeled "Union Leaders". The Union Leaders talk amongst themselves, standing at the foot of Mt. Rushmore. The group hovers around an explosive, saying "We'll blast away the mountains!" as they look up towards the monument. Mt. Rushmore bears the title, "The Law of the Land". Below the cartoon there is an article titled, "To Hell With It! / Law of the Land Flouted By Union Labor Leaders." At the bottom of the page is printed "Reproduced from the Editorial Page of the Detroit Free Press, Thursday, August 14, 1947."
