This is a sketch of a political cartoon that was then printed in the Dayton Journal-Herald. The cartoon depicts a bust portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The portrait shows him later in life and wearing his typical black suit with a bow tie. Behind him and to the proper right is a decorative element that resembles an American flag. "A.Lincoln '76" is written on it. The title, ". . .Timeless and Immortal" is written below the portrait. The artist signed the cartoon just above the title with his name and date. He also wrote "From Life Mask". In the upper margin, "A bicentennial birthday" appears to have been the original title, but it has been crossed out. "Journal Feb 12 1976" is handwritten in pencil in the upper margin as well. "OC Cut Card Made 11/85" is handwritten in the bottom proper right corner on the front and reverse sides.
