Description

This gravure print features a three-quarter length portrait of United States President Zachary Taylor done from his official White House portrait. He is posed standing turned slightly toward the viewer's left. He is depicted wearing a military uniform and gripping his sword with his left hand. A facsimile signature is in the margin below the portrait. To the viewer's left of the signature is a very small illustration of Taylor's plantation home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The page has the top edge gilded. The page was taken from a large volume titled "The Presidents. The White House Gallery of Official Portraits of the Presidents" published by The Gravure Company of America in 1901.
