Description

This hand colored lithograph, done from a daguerreotype, features a head and shoulders portrait of Winfield Scott who was the Whig candidate in the 1852 United States presidential election. He is depicted facing slightly toward the viewer's left wearing a black coat, vest, and tie. The grip of Scott's sword is visible in the lower right corner of the image.
