Description
This print features a bearded Abraham Lincoln on horseback in front of his Springfield, Illinois, home. Lincoln wears a black coat, vest, pants, and shoes with a white collared shirt and black bow tie. Lincoln holds his black top hat in his right hand and the reigns of his horse with the left. A crowd of people surrounds Lincoln as they celebrate a successful presidential campaign. "Published by William F. Staines" is printed below the image at the left. "MR. LINCOLN ON HORSE AT HIS OLD RESIDENCE." is printed in large letters below the image, and "In Springfield, Illinois, as they appeared on his return at the close of the Campaign with Senator Douglas." is printed on the second line.
