Description
This etching features a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln done from a painting by William E. Marshall in 1865. Lincoln is shown wearing a dark coat and bow tie and facing toward the viewer's right. The intials AL can be seen near the bottom of Lincoln's left lapel. A facsimile signature is printed below the image. The artist's handwritten signature and date are just below the plate line in the lower margin.
