Description

This print features a head and shoulders portrait of a beardless Abraham Lincoln done from a photograph taken of him on June 3, 1860, in Springfield, Illinois. Lincoln is facing the viewer with his head turned partially toward the viewer's right and wearing a black coat, white collared shirt, and black bow tie. His eyeglasses cord rests diagonally across his chest. The background behind Lincoln is very dark, making it difficult to distinguish the outline of Lincoln's shoulders. The image is in the center of a dark oval. The title "Lincoln At The Age Of 26" is printed below the image. However, since the original photograph was taken in 1860, Lincoln would have actually been 51 years old at the time.
