Description

This linocut depicts President Abraham Lincoln wearing glasses seated at a table reading a document held in his right hand. His left hand rests on the table beside the lamp. The artist's signature and date appear in the lower right corner of the image. "Copyright 1941--Bernhardt Wall, Linocut" is printed along the bottom edge of the image. The artist's handwritten signature in pencil is just below the bottom edge of the image. The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection includes several of Bernhardt Wall's publications of his etchings about the life of Abraham Lincoln including a miniature book containing the text of the Gettysburg Address "Etched, printed & bound by Bernhardt Wall personally."
