Description

Chromolithograph depicts the Union and Confederate ironclads, USS Monitor and CSS Merrimac (aka CSS Virginia) at the Battle of Hampton Roads. Smoke billows as both ships fire cannons at each other. Traditional wooden ships are visible in the background.
