Description

This engraving, originally done by H. B. Hall, features President Abraham Lincoln and his family in a parlor setting. The print was copyrighted in 1931 after an unknown publisher added a few touches of red to the family members' lips as well as to the book being held by President Lincoln and the one at which the youngest son, Tad, is looking. Also added were Mrs. Lincoln's wrist watch and the frame in the background. President Lincoln is shown seated in a chair at the viewer's left. Mrs. Lincoln, standing to Lincoln's left, has her hands on his left shoulder. Tad is seated at the table while their oldest son, Robert, stands behind him to the right. There is a drapery on the left and a statue and a portrait of George Washington in the background. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
