Description
This lithograph portrays President Abraham Lincoln with his family gathered around a table. As the Lincoln family members never posed together for any photograph or art work, this image is a composite done from inidividual photographs. Lincoln is shown seated in a chair with Mrs. Lincoln standing behind him and Tad standing to his parents' left. Robert is shown seated in a chair on the viewer's far left, reading a letter; Willie is shown leaning casually on the table in front of Robert. A portrait of George Washington hangs on the wall in the background. The title is printed in the lower margin with a dedicatory sentence below: "To the friends of universal freedom and equal rights for all, this picture is respectfully dedicated by the publisher."
