Description
This is a political cartoon published in the February 12, 1946, issue of the Oregon Journal of Portland, Oregon. It features President Abraham Lincoln standing in profile and holding in his right hand a piece of paper that reads, "Faith in America." In the upper right corner of the drawing is a quotation from President Lincoln's "Address at the Sanitary Fair" in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1864 which reads "The world has never had a good definition of the word liberty, and the American people, just now, are much in want of one." The artist's handwritten signature and the publication information are in the bottom margin just below President Lincoln. The title appears in the upper margin, "A Notable Birthday Anniversary."
