Description
This steel engraving was done from a photograph taken of President Abraham Lincoln in November of 1863 in Washington, D. C., a week and a half before he traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to give his famous address at the dedication ceremony for the National Cemetery there. The engraving is a cropped version of the original photograph President Lincoln is facing and looking toward the viewer and is wearing a black frock coat, waistcoat, and bow tie.
