This engraving features an etching of President Abraham Lincoln done from photographs taken of him on the battlefield at Antietam, Maryland, in October 1862. President Lincoln is depicted standing beside a pillar facing toward the viewer's left and wearing a black coat, bow tie, and top hat. His arms are positioned at his sides.
