Description

This engraving of President Abraham Lincoln and his youngest son, Tad, was done from a photograph taken of them on February 9, 1864, in Washington, D. C. President Lincoln is seated in a chair facing to the right of the image. Tad is standing behind the left arm of the chair. Lincoln is holding an album on his lap which the lithographer changed the pages to make it appear that they are reading the Bible instead. The heading at the top of the pages reads "Psalms." Text beneath the image reads "Phot by Brady; Published by Henry Bill, Norwich Connecticut; Engraved by H.B. Hall Jr." The title is in the lower margin. "Printed by R. Nevers" appears near the lower right corner. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
