Description
This poster features a photograph of sculptor Augustus Saint Gauden's heroic-size statue of Abraham Lincoln standing in front of a bench which is located in Lincoln Park in Chicago, Illinois. The title at the top of the poster is printed in red ink. The photograph and the company name are printed in medium green ink. To the viewer's left of the statue printed in black on an olive green background is the caption for the statue. The caption tells the viewer, "For beautiful picture of it [the statue] write to Lincoln National Life Foundation, Fort Wayne, Indiana." All of the above are printed on a pale yellow background with a white margin on all sides. The number 15741 is printed in lower right corner of margin in very small type. The poster is pasted to a foam core board and appears to be one of a set of four. The poster is an example of the use of Lincoln's name and/or image to promote positive feelings toward a business or organization.
