Description

This gravure print features a three-quarter length portrait of United States President William McKinley done from his official White House portrait. He is posed standing turned slightly toward the viewer's right. He is depicted wearing a black double-breasted coat, white collared shirt, and black bow tie. His left elbow rests on a decorative urn beside him and he holds a folded document in his right hand. A facsimile signature is in the margin below the portrait. To the viewer's left of the signature is a very small illustration of McKinley's home in Canton, Ohio. The page has the top edge gilded. The page was taken from a large volume titled "The Presidents. The White House Gallery of Official Portraits of the Presidents" published by The Gravure Company of America in 1901.
