Description

This calendar featuring twelve paintings by artist Louis Bonhajo of scenes related to the life of President Abraham Lincoln was published to commemorate the company's 100th anniversary according to the front cover. The page for each month shows a painting at the top with explanatory text beside it and with the monthly calendar below. The paintings reproduced, the originals of which are in the collection of Lincoln Memorial University, are "Lincoln Visits Grant, 1865," "Lincoln Memorial, Washington, D. C.," "Lincoln with His Son Tad," "The Boy Lincoln," "Lincoln's First Nomination--May, 1860," "Lincoln Moves to Illinois--1830," "Lincoln, the Rail Splitter," "Lincoln, the Story Teller," "Signing the Emancipation Proclamation," Flat Boat to New Orleans--1828," "Lincoln at Gettysburg, Nov. 19, 1863," and "Lincoln, the Country Lawyer." A metal binding strip secures the pages along the top edge. A tab with a hole for hanging is attached at top center of the reverse.
