Description

This color print reproduced from a painting by Harold M. Brett depicts President Abraham Lincoln standing in front of a large crowd of people giving his Second Inaugural Address. Lincoln wears a coat, vest, and trousers with a white collared shirt and dark bow tie. The chain of Lincoln's pocket watch can be seen draped across his vest. Lincoln's left hand rests on the small table next to him. Three American flags hang above Lincoln's head, though only the stripes can be seen. Lincoln's cabinet members, secretaries, statesmen, and military leaders sit directly behind Lincoln, while many more people are seated in the distance. The large columns of the Capitol Building stand in the background. The artist's signature is written in the lower right corner of the image. "With Malice Toward None, WIth Charity for All" is printed in red ink in very small lettering at the bottom of the image. There is a brown decorative border around the image. Note: With the exception of its size, a lack of border around the image, and a title at the bottom of the print, this is a duplicate of (71.2009.081.1678).
