Description

This portrait of Confederate Lieutenant-General Nathaniel Bedford Forrest depicts him facing the viewer's right. His hairline is receding; however, his hair is worn long around the ears. The subject has a mustache and goatee. He is wearing a double-breasted uniform jacket with a collar decorated with stars and laurel leaves. Below the portrait is the subject's name, as well as the publishing information: "Published by Geo. E. Perine. 111 Nassau St. N.Y." and "J. L. Giles, Lith. N.Y."
