Description
This lithograph is a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln in a black oval-shaped frame. There is a decorative printed border around the portrait. Beneath the portrait there is a facsimile signature reading "Yours truly A. Lincoln." This print may have been the pose Middleton sent to President Lincoln for his approval in 1864. After incorporating Lincoln's suggestions for improvement, the company then produced their very popular chromolithograph portraits on canvas.
