Description

This poster was a notice for the auction of a 120 acre farm on Nolin Creek belonging to Mrs. August Ovesen, Sr., of Hodgenville, Kentucky. According to the poster, the house on the farm was "the old stone house that Lincoln remembered so well, and asked about in conversation with Dr. J. H. Rodman of Hodgenville when Lincoln was President." The poster was printed in red and black type and in various sized fonts. The three photographs printed show the house, a portion of the farmland, and the stone building with fireplace over the spring. The auction was to take place on Wednesday, February 23, but no year was given. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
