Description

This gravure print features a full-length portrait of United States President Millard Fillmore done from his official White House portrait. He is posed standing turned facing the viewer with his head turned slightly toward the viewer's left. He is depicted a black frock coat, vest, white collared shirt, and black bow tie. His right hand rests on top of documents labeled "The Constitution" lying on the table to his right. His left hand is propped on his hip. A facsimile signature is in the margin below the portrait. To the viewer's left of the signature is a very small illustration of Pierce's home in Buffalo, New York. The page has the top edge gilded. The page was taken from a large volume titled "The Presidents. The White House Gallery of Official Portraits of the Presidents" published by The Gravure Company of America in 1901.
