Description
This color print features a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln positioned at a three quarter view with his head facing the viewer. Lincoln wears a dark jacket along with a white collared shirt and black bow tie. He sits in front of what appears to be a dark red curtain. Lincoln's eyes are filled with tears, and a single tear rolls down both of his cheeks. The artist's signature "Forquer 1995" is written in red in the bottom right corner. "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory by Ray W. Forquer" is printed in two separate lines below the image, with further publication information in the bottom left and right corners of the paper. The word "Sample" is handwritten in pencil on the shirt front. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
