Description
This print is a reproduction from the original painting done by Frederic Mizen of Abraham Lincoln and his youngest son Tad. Lincoln is shown seated with his top hat hanging on the corner of the chair. He is wearing a dark suit, vest, and bow tie with a tan scarf draped around his neck. Tad is standing at his father's right shoulder leaning forward with his left hand on a page in the book held by Lincoln. A window and large white pillars are shown iin the background. Leaves in fall colors are shown in the top right corner and the lower left corner of the image. The title and publisher's information are just below din the lower margin. The original painting based on a photograph of Lincoln and Tad taken on February 9, 1864, was commissioned by the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company to be reproduced and used as advertising art.
