Description
This is an advertisement for William Sartain's steel engraving of the Abraham Lincoln family done after the painting by Samuel B. Waugh. The text says "It represents the family in a private parlor in the White House a short time before the assassination....An examination of the work produces deep emotions. We are at once brought in sympathy with the family who were by foul assassination deprived of a husband and a father."
