Description

This print features the President Abraham Lincoln family, Tad, Willie, Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln. The members of the Lincoln family never posed together so the printmakers used individual photographs from which to compose their Lincoln family prints. In this Kurz and Allison print each family member's name is printed in the lower margin along with the title and publisher's information. President Lincoln is seated to the viewer's left holding a book and looking down. Tad, the youngest son, is shown standing at his father's left and looking down at the book while their middle son, Willie is shown seated next to Tad. Robert, the oldest son, is shown standing behind Willie and to Mrs. Lincoln's right. She is seated to the viewer's right and holds a flower in her right hand.
