This etching depicts a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln. He wears a dark jacket and vest, along with a white collared shirt and black bow tie. There is a slight shadow above Lincoln's shoulders. The word "Lincoln" is printed beneath the image. The text "He was a type of the true elder race and one of Plutarch's men talked with us face to face. - LOWELL." below the title.
