This engraving features a portrait of President Abraham Lincoln done from a photograph taken on February 9, 1864, in Washington, D.C. Lincoln is shown wearing a black frock coat, waistcoat, and bow tie. The oval shaped portrait is printed on a tan background. The name of the photography studio is printed at shoulder level just outside the edge of the image on the viewer's left. The name of the engraver is printed at shoulder level just outside the edge of the image on the viewer's right. A facsimile signature is below the image.
