Description
This page is the first proof for an advertisement for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and United Mutual Fire Insurance Company, Boston, to appear in banking publications in June, 1941. An illustration taken from an issue of Harper's Weekly of President Lincoln giving the speech is pasted into a frame at the top of the page with the caption "Lincoln Speaking at Gettysburg" in script below. The text of the advertisement appears below the illustration. The text relates the power and effectiveness of Lincoln's brief speech to the need for insurance policies to be brief. The text goes on to discuss the advantages of the two types of policies being offered to banks. The ad designer's information is in the lower margin.
