Description

This engraving done from a photograph taken of Abraham Lincoln on June 3, 1860, features a head and shoulders portrait of a beardless Lincoln. He is depicted facing slightly toward the viewer's right with his head turned further to the viewer's right. Lincoln wears a black coat and vest with a white button-down collared shirt and black bow tie. His eyeglasses cord descends diagonnally across his chest to the left inside of the vest. The portrait is inside an oval, which is then inside a larger, black rectangle. The artist's printed signature and location are written in the bottom right corner of the rectangle: "R J McFee Co. CIN" The word "Copyrighted" is written in the bottom left corner of the image. A facsimile of Lincoln's signature appears below the image.
