Description
This print features an almost half-length portrait of President Abraham Lincoln after a painting done from life by Francis B. Carpenter in 1864. The portrait depicts Lincoln facing the viewer with his head turned slightly toward the viewer's right and wearing a black coat, vest, and bow tie with a white collared shirt. A printed inscription in the lower left corner of the image reads "From life by F. B. Carpenter, 1864." A facsimile Lincoln signature is printed in the bottom margin.
