Description

This print was done from a drawing by artist Loyd Ostendorf of a beardless Abraham Lincoln. He is depicted as he probably looked about the time he began to practice law. Underneath the portrait is the title "A. Lincoln in Decatur." Under the title is the publisher's information: "Reproduced by the Heritage Committee, Decatur, Illinois. Exclusive rights of Amelia Mulrooney." A limited number of this print was published to raise money to pay for the Heritage Committee project of placing a bronze replica of the first Macon County Courthouse where Lincoln tried cases on the southwest corner of Lincoln Square in Decatur, Illinois.
