This engraving is a head and shoulders portrait of Confederate States Army Major General Albert Sidney Johnston wearing a double-breasted uniform jacket with three stars on the collar. He has a large moustache and a receding hair line with a widow's peak. He faces the viewer's left. Johnston's signature is reproduced below the image.
