Description

This poster is a reprint of an article by an unknown author published in the Chicago Press and Tribune on May 23, 1860, which described the physical traits and character of Abraham Lincoln. The author of the article assumed that their would be many questions as the Republican Party had nominated Lincoln to be their presidential candidate five days before on May 18, 1860. The calligraphic title of the article is printed in brown ink. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
