Description
This engraving features nine oval-shaped portraits of Presidents Abraham Lincoln (top) and George Washington (center) and seven Union generals in uniform who fought in the Civil War. The generals shown are, starting clockwise from Lincoln, Pope, Burnside, Halleck, McClellan, Banks, DuPont, and Foote. In a flowing script is the text, "United States Life Insurance Company" on top of the portraits, and below them is "40 Wall Street New York".
