Description
This color poster features a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln done after a photograph taken of him on February 9, 1864, in Washington, D. C. He is depicted facing slightly toward the viewer's right. The artist's name is printed in the lower right corner of the image. In the bottom margin below President Lincoln's right shoulder is text reading "Presented by the Union Pacific Railroad which became the practical realization of Abraham Lincoln's plan to link East with West by a transcontinental rail line."
