Description
This print features the printed text of President Abraham Lincoln's speech he gave at the dedication ceremony for the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1863. The text appears on a background of an illustrated scroll. Eight illustrations shown in log frames appear spaced around the edges of the scroll clockwise from the top: Lincoln's birthplace cabin; Pottsville Courthouse where Lincoln practiced law; the Wigwam where Lincoln was nominated; the White House when Lincoln was president; engraved portrait in oval frame with a flag on either side and broken chains below from a photograph taken of Lincoln on February 9, 1864; Lincoln as a young attorney; the Lincoln and Berry Store in New Salem, Illinois; and Lincoln studying on the banks of the Sangamon [River].
