Description
This poster features the printed text of President Abraham Lincoln's speech that he gave at the dedication ceremony for the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1863. It also features a reproduction of a painting by Joseph Boggs Beale showing President Lincoln speaking at the ceremony. Between the illustration and the text of the speech is a related statement: "It is altogether fitting and proper that we rededicate ourselves today to the fundamental truths expressed by Lincoln fourscore years ago. The publisher's information is in the lower margin. A handwritten note in pencil in the lower margin reads, "attached to calendar 1943." On the back of the poster is the Farmers Deposit National Bank financial statement for the end of the third quarter dated September 30, 1942.
