This print features the text of President Abraham Lincoln's Proclamation for a Day of Thanksgiving issued on October 3rd, 1863, and a head and shoulders portrait of President Lincoln in red-orange ink above the title. The illuminated first letter of text is printed in the same red-orange color. At the end of the proclamation text is a note emphasizing giving thanks daily for our heritage of national freedom and the time of suffering and anguish of the Civil War during which Lincoln made the proclamation. Below the text in italics another note reads "Compliments of S. R. Stauffer, Field Representative, "Business Week," McGraw-Hill Company, New York."
