Description

This print features the text in calligraphic font of a speech that Abraham Lincoln gave at a grand reception given for him in Springfield, Illinois, on October 30, 1858, at the end of the political campaign just before the election would take place in early November. Lincoln had been away most of the October campaigning for the Senate seat for Illinois. Judge Stephen Douglas was Lincoln's opponent for the Senate seat.
