Description
This steel engraving features the text of President Abraham Lincoln's speech given at the dedication of the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1863. At the top center of the print is a right profile portrait of President Lincoln engraved after a photograph taken of him on February 9, 1864, in Washington, D. C. The text of the speech is printed in a calligraphic font with the first letter illuminated and a floral border extending down from it at the left edge of the text. The print is done on heavy paper stock. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
