Description
This print features words taken from Abraham Lincoln's Address Before the Young Men's Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois, on January 27, 1838, as well as a reproduction of a photograph of President Lincoln taken on October 3, 1862, on the battlefield at Antietam, Maryland. The central idea of Lincoln's address was that reverence for the laws of the country should be taught to every child. Lincoln calls it the "political religion of the nation."
