Description
This statuette depicts a young Abraham LIncoln around the age of 18 in Indiana barefooted and seated on a tree stump. His chin rests in his left hand and he is looking to the viewer's right. He holds a book in his right hand which rests on his leg. A dog is lying down by Lincoln's feet. An ax is shown leaning against the log beside Lincoln. On the front of the base are the words, "I WILL GET READY AND MAYBE SOMEDAY MY CHANCE WILL COME." On the back of the base the words are, "E.M. Viquesney, Sculptor, Spencer Ind, Copyrighted 1938."
