Description

This print features a young, beardless Abraham Lincoln splitting rails. He is shown straddling a large log with a wedge in the end. Lincoln is holding an axe raised over his right shoulder. A maul rests on the ground against the log. In the background is a split rail fence and a few trees. Several rails ready to be used are propped against a tree with a few more on the ground.
