Description
This woodcut engraving, done from a photograph taken of them on November 8, 1863, features President Abraham Lincoln and his secretaries, John Hay and John G. Nicolay. The engraving appeared in the June 11, 1864, issue of Harper's Weekly on page 324. President Lincoln is depicted seated with John Nicolay seated beside him with each one resting an elbow on the small table. John Hay is depicted standing behind the table.
