Description
This lithograph depicts head and shoulders portraits of sixteen statesmen from the state of Illinois during the latter half of the 19th-century. The name and Illinois hometown are printed beneath each vignetted portrait. The portraits are divided by decorative borders and are arranged in four rows of four portraits each. Beginning from the top left corner, the men shown are Gustavus Koerner, Lyman Trumbull, General U. S. Grant, Judge David Davis, Richard Edwards, Abraham Lincoln, Stephen A. Douglas, John L. Beveridge, Richard J. Oglesby, William R. Morrison, John A. Logan, Shelby M. Cullom, Charles W. Woodman, Thomas S. Ridgeway, Samuel M. Etter, and William G. Bowman.
