Description

This woodcut engraving features a portrait of Confederate General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, published in the "Once a Week" literary magazine issue of May 20, 1890. The subject sits in three-quarter profile facingslightly toward the viewer's right. His dark hair is combed back and he has thick sideburns. Jackson wears a double-breasted military jacket with a standing collar on which are two stars on each side. His date of death, May 10, 1863, is printed in the lower margin.
