Description

This lithograph is plate three in a series of six anti-Lincoln cartoon prints originally drawn in 1864 by L. H. Stephens. The black ink cartoon lithograph depicts a very tall and slender Abraham Lincoln bent over grasping the hands of a young African-American boy. The print is titled across the top of the composition, "Love me Little, Love me Long." Lincoln's text in the cartoon reads, "My little man, you're free. I've long sought this hour." The African American boy's text is slightly illegible and possibly reads, "You's werry long, dat so massa Lincum and de people want yer longer yet." The print is again titled in the bottom margin.
