Description
This poster announced a two day bus tour of Illinois sites important in the life of President Abraham Lincoln which would take place on June 13-14, 1953. Departing from Chicago, Lincoln authority Ralph G. Newman would lead the tour of Lincoln sites including those in New Salem, Springfield, and Lincoln, Illinois. In the upper left corner of the poster are photographs in black circular borders of the Lincoln home and the Lincoln Monument in Springfield and one of the buildings in New Salem along with illustrations of attorney Abraham Lincoln and Ralph G. Newman. Printed lightly in orange ink in the bottom margin is an illustration of the pioneer village of New Salem.
